Casino silver tokens anyone?

1 Attachment(s)
I just bought a small collection of coins locally today and it included 5 Casino Windsor $20 tokens/chips. Anyone collect these?

I bought them as part of the deal and am not really interested in them. Face value is $100, 4 different designs (there are 2 loons, one of them shown obverse), weight is about 6 troy ounce total.

Scan is not that great, as the holders are a little dirty, but the coins themselves are in good shape.

$125 insured and delivered anyone?

I believe that some casino tokens are a silver center set into a brass or gold plated brass surround. All the tokens I have do not state how many ounces of silver is contained in the token. They are worth $20 each at the issuing casino. You can always take them to the tables and "invest" them. There is a secondary market for token collectors. A google search should turn up a web site or two.

I did a search and found some info, but some of it is contradictory.

My guess is the center is silver and the ring is electroplated something. As mentioned, the total weight is about 1.2 oz troy (37.1g) each.

Personally, I have no interest in them but I thought I would offer them up here before they go on eBay or the melt bucket.

I once came across a small lot of silver rounds at my local dealer that had a .999 silver casino token thrown in. I picked it up, and it didn't feel right. (It was priced the same as others.) Dealer weighed it: 0.85 troy ounces.

I can't vouch for what you found, but I can say for certain that these weigh 37.1 grams, as I weighed them earlier today.

I got burned on the first ones I bought, 5 or so. They're about 1/2 oz of silver.

Thanks for that Eastex - from the site:

$20 strikes have a .999 Silver outer ring with some 24K Heavy Electroplating (HE) and a Bronze 24K Heavy Gold Electroplate (HGE) on the center insert, approximate Silver weight is 0.75 ounces of Silver.
They seem more a collector piece, that is why I wanted to offer them here first to see if anyone collected them. Being a bullion guy, they do not hold a big allure to me.

Will probably show up on eBay in the near future if no takers here.

Silver @ 15.33 X .75 = 11.4975 X 5 = 57.4875.

I'd look for a collector or better yet, cash them in at the casinoo for face
